Do you accept medical insurance?

Achieve Independence accepts private pay clients. We provide superbills (detailed receipts) for submission to insurance for possible reimbursement if you have out of network benefits.

What ages do you work with?

We provide speech therapy for children, teens, and adults, serving clients ages 2 through adulthood.

Where will services be provided?

Speech therapy is offered in your home in New Haven and Fairfield counties, or online for clients located anywhere in Connecticut.

How does tele-therapy (online speech therapy) work?

We use Google Meet to meet for your online speech therapy session and will email you an invitation to join. This can be the sole method of speech therapy or be used in addition to in-person therapy when illness, scheduling conflicts, and inclement weather arise.

My child did not qualify for school-based services, can you still work with them?

Yes! In Connecticut, students only qualify for school-based services if there is a negative impact on their academics. Oftentimes students with speech sound errors (s or r) are performing at grade level but still need speech-language therapy.

Can you work with my child if they receive speech therapy services at school?

Yes! Children often progress more when receiving both academic and private speech and language therapy. With your permission, we can communicate with your child's therapist for therapy continuity.

Will you collaborate with my child's other therapists?

Yes, we will have you sign a release of information so we have permission to communicate with other members of your child's team. We believe collaboration is crucial for your child's progress.
